The origin of our Rainbow Blend

It's a long journey before the cocoa ends up in our cup. Not only are all four elements - earth, water, fire and air - involved, but also many hands: the people on the plantation who planted the cocoa tree seeds, watered them, lovingly cared for them, harvested the valuable cocoa beans and then carefully processed them into cocoa mass. And the people who transported them the long way to the warehouse and then to your home.

It is important to us that everyone involved in this supply chain works and is remunerated under the best possible ethical conditions. Our partners are local, certified smallholder and agricultural cooperatives who 25 years ago set themselves the goal of growing cocoa instead of coca plants under the motto "Theobromine instead of cocaine" in order to combat the violence associated with drug-related crime. Today, the cooperative focuses on continuously improving the quality of the cocoa and offers over 500 members a good standard of living through the cultivation and processing of the cocoa.
The fine cocoa in our Rainbow Blend comes from Juanjuí, the capital of the province of Mariscal Cáceres in central northern Peru. Nestled between the majestic eastern foothills of the Peruvian Central Cordillera and the pristine tropical parks of Río Abiseo and Cordillera Azul, the exclusive collection of cocoa beans combines the mineral power of the Andes with the fertile tropical warmth and humidity of the Amazon region. The optimal growing conditions allow the cocoa beans to develop their full potential. The diversified climatic and soil conditions of the growing region as well as the considerate post-harvest process contribute to the excellent quality of our cocoa mass, which you can taste and feel.
Our Rainbow Blend is grown in a mixed culture that allows it to absorb flavor elements from various endemic wood and fruit tree species. Only mixed forests create a sustainable economic climate for cocoa growers and closed nutrient cycles for Mother Nature.
